Well, Jamaica was the adventure I thought it would be!  I met Elise Yap who is in charge of Breadbasket Ministries and went on an afternoon with her to visit the people she helps.  Jamaica is a poor nation but the people I met were at a level of poverty I had never seen.  Elise and her group are doing so much to make a difference in the lives of the families she has chosen to help.  She is working to make the next generation more able to help themselves, rather than depending upon society for assistance.  What a wonderful lady and charity.  Loved everyone I met.  Jamaica has become another home to me and part of my heart stays there.

The adventure begins!  A red-eye flight, a bad movie, breakfast and a change of clothes in Miami andI'm off to Jamaica at 10am!  Please keep Breadbasket Ministries in your prayers, I'm excited to meet them and do whatever I can to help.  Thank you to all that donated items or cash for this worthy group!  More to come as 'Barb's Adventure in Jamaica' continues!

Hi my friends,
I am heading to Jamaica and going to be visiting a mission for the poor of the island. I am taking clothes, shoes, books, etc. They also need twin sheets, solar lamps, canned meat and so much more. Anyone wanting to donate goods or even cash to buy goods when I get there - just let me know. I am leaving next week. Check out their website at breadbasketministries.com. Thank you all,  Barbara
